FIT and Benelux Chamber Attend Wuxi’s International Month
As Wuxi kicked off its 2025 International Month, representatives from Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) and the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China were on the ground to explore new avenues for cooperation between European and Chinese industry leaders. Frank Van Eyde and Diane Zhang from FIT’s Shanghai office joined Jonathan Xu from the Benelux Chamber in attending a series of events aimed at strengthening international dialogue and identifying opportunities for Flemish exporters and Benelux companies in the region.

With over 56 events planned, including the Dialogue with Europe – Green Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Cooperation Forum and the China-Europe Tourism Cooperation Exchange, this year’s International Month offered a structured setting for meaningful dialogue on industry cooperation, sustainability, and innovation. For FIT and the Benelux Chamber, it was an opportunity to observe how Wuxi is positioning itself as a magnet for international business and to assess where European expertise, especially from Flanders and the Benelux region, can make a difference.
Both FIT and the Benelux Chamber focused on engaging directly with municipal representatives, foreign enterprises, and local businesses to gain deeper insight into Wuxi’s industrial ambitions, particularly in sectors like green technology, cross-border e-commerce, and advanced manufacturing. For FIT, this also meant highlighting the strengths of Flanders as a gateway to the European market, with the aim of attracting Chinese investment into the region. Their shared goal was to identify where Flemish and Benelux companies can add value and seize opportunities within Wuxi’s broader push for openness, innovation, and economic modernization.
Through their active engagement in Wuxi’s International Month, FIT and the Benelux Chamber of Commerce continue to serve as vital bridges between European businesses and local Chinese stakeholders. Their presence not only helps translate regional developments into tangible insights for Flemish exporters and Benelux companies, but also promotes Flanders and the Benelux region as attractive destinations for Chinese investment.
